Apple acquires virtual reality startup "Spaces"

Apple has acquired Spaces, a virtual reality business that was originally a DreamWorks Animation project, Protocol has discovered.

After that, Spaces changed course and created a VR add-on for well-known video conferencing programs like Zoom, enabling Zoom users to participate in meetings with an animated avatar. Akmal then added, "We like to be busy making things." "We can't just wait around for something to come back for a year."

Apple has been developing its own AR/VR headgear for a while, and to staff up for the project, it has bought a number of AR and VR firms. NextVR, Akonia Holographics, and Vrvana are a few other recent purchases in this field. Apple has not yet publicly acknowledged intentions to introduce such headgear.
