Apple's "iPhone 9 Plus" with the A13, a larger version of the speculated entry-level model, is confirmed by iOS 14 code.

I now know a number of brand-new facts about the impending iPhone 9, which will run iOS 14. Now I've found proof that Apple is also developing a bigger "iPhone 9 Plus" — not just an iPhone 9 — to take the place of both the iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus. Although there have been supply-chain reports of 4.7-inch hardware, this is the first time proof has been shown in favor of a larger entry-level iPhone.

I was previously aware of certain information regarding the iPhone 9, which is rumored to be Apple's upcoming entry-level smartphone. For example, I heard that it will have a 4.7-inch LCD screen and a Home button with Touch ID built in. Now that iOS 14 code snippets have surfaced, I know more details about this upcoming iPhone.

First of all, it appears that Apple is also developing a larger iPhone 9 model that may be called the iPhone 9 Plus (or at least the Plus moniker of whatever Apple dubs this line). That would make sense given that new iPhones are intended to replace the iPhone 8 series, which includes models with screens of 4.7 and 5.5 inches.

The solid-state Home button, which debuted with the iPhone 7 and was carried over to the iPhone 8, will be present on these iPhones. In order to simulate clicks and decrease hardware failures, the Home button employs the Taptic Engine, which means it doesn't have any moving components.

The iPhone 9 and iPhone 9 Plus will not have Face ID; instead, Touch ID will be available since they are intended to be entry-level models. Apple Pay and the Express Transit function, which are unavailable on some older iPhones, will be usable by users. The iPhone XR, iPhone XS, and iPhone 11 are the only devices that can scan NFC tags in the background; neither the iPhone 8 nor the iPhone X can do this. The latest models will be able to do this.

It's crucial to remember that the titles iPhone 9 and iPhone 9 Plus are only rumors, much like some claim the device would be called iPhone SE 2. This spring, probably simultaneously with or following the release of iOS 13.4, the new iPhone 9 or iPhone SE 2 is anticipated.
