Tencent introduces a video conferencing app similar to Zoom.

Tencent Meeting is a communications tool that was introduced by Tencent Cloud. It makes use of cloud computing, artificial intelligence, and online security technologies to integrate video conferencing, online meetings, chat, and mobile collaboration.

  • Individual users can currently invite up to 25 others for 45 minutes in the free version.
  • The cost of the professional edition, which allows for the invitation of up to 100 individuals, is RMB99 ($14) every month. Meetings with over 300 callers are supported by the enterprise version.
  • Users have two options for logging in: their mobile number or the WeChat account login that is frequently seen on new Tencent apps.
  • The produced conferences can be shared via WeChat, WeChat Work, and QQ. Participants in meetings who haven't downloaded the app can join through WeChat Work or the mini program.
  • The company states that it can retain good visual quality with an ultra-low latency of about 80 ms. The program also offers background blurring and video filters, which are important regional features.
